Tim Golas

Spurstone's strategic architect, Timothy Golas, has dedicated his talents to the financial services industry since 2005. As a private client advisor with UBS Financial, Tim strategized with senior executives and focused on equity based compensation management at Fortune 500 companies.

While at UBS, Tim worked on a Barron's Top 100 Team, where he specialized in advising corporate executives. His experience also includes consulting with families at all corporate levels, providing skills to better implement efficient strategies to build and preserve individual wealth with concentrated positions, stock based compensation, and deferred compensation.

Integral to the Spurstone team, Tim focuses on stock compensation planning, asset management, estate planning, and retirement planning, among others. His other areas of expertise include creating strategies to develop retirement planning, charitable giving, and legacy planning.

Managing the latest technology for enhanced efficiency, Tim expertly implements strategies for analytics and transparency, while prioritizing a warm, personal approach with his clients.  Boasting an impressive writing portfolio, Tim has been featured in a variety of publications, including financial giants like The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, and Investopedia.

The son of an engineer, Tim jumps at the chance to solve problems creatively, and tackle complex challenges. He prides himself on investing as much time with each client as possible, determined to put forth more effort with each individual than generally expected from the industry.

Tim celebrates the ability to give family time back to his clients while focusing on spending quality time with his own. He and his wife, Tiffany, have two beautiful daughters and enjoy living in their hometown of Higganum.

A graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Tim earned his BS in Business Finance.He is a passionate Motocross and off-road racing fan who can often be found with friends riding his dirt bike on scenic trails around his home. While St. Croix remains his favorite vacation escape, there is nowhere in the world he would rather be than at home with his girls. A self-professed foodie, Tim has an intense affinity for all things chocolate.  The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is close to Tim's heart, and he supports the organization's efforts whenever and however he can.
